Year of Mathematical Science

The Challenge

21st Century mathematical sciences are a highly exciting and vital field for future development.

Students in schools, however, are often not exposed to the big ideas and rewards that come from pursuing these areas of study.

The Initiative

AMI proposes hosting a year of mathematical science across Kenya.

Lecturers from around the world will be involved in a project that will give learners across the whole of Kenya opportunities to engage in mathematics and computer science.

Implementation

A truck will be loaded with necessary equipment so that over the course of one year it can travel to every county in Kenya, where it will be used to host mathematical science events.

These events will consist of 3 day camps where lots of exciting and engaging activities will be hosted to show learners why mathematical sciences are so important.
