What to expect
Maseno Maths Camp is an unique opportunity for teachers to realize and understand the power of learning in a computer based environment with the latest software. You will witness, and be directly involved in, students having their eyes opened to the world of mathematics, and take part in discussions in the the ways mathematics is used in research. You will get to meet other mathematics teachers and also lecturers and researchers from Kenya and all around the world.

Who can apply
We welcome applications in the following two ways.
Some pre-funded places will be made available for students and teachers through public Kenyan Schools. Further information on these places and how to apply will be available soon. Private applications are welcomed both nationally and internationally. The cost is KShs 5,000 for participants (teachers) from the East African Community and KShs 10,000 for international participants. This includes accommodation, food and resources. Information for students

What to expect
Maseno Maths Camp will give you a unique opportunity to have your eyes opened to the fascinating world of mathematics. You will be exposed to new mathematics concepts, in a computer based environment with the latest mathematical software. You will interact with mathematics teachers, lecturers and researchers from around the world and discuss ways in which mathematics is being used in research.

Schedule
Every day will follow roughly the same timetable. There will by two lecture/demonstration sessions in the morning. After lunch there will be an afternoon session devoted to project work where you will work in groups.
Each evening after dinner there will be some time to relax and an opportunity to learn card games with the other students and staff. There will be a chance to play some informal outdoor games.

 Accommodation and food
With the very kind permission of Maseno University, you will be imagesaccommodated in student hostels within the University campus.
All meals will be provided on campus with your fellow students, teachers and staff.

Transport
You will be required to organise your own transport to Maseno University, with a teacher either from your school or from a school in your region. Please see Where to find us for further details. Once you are here there will be no need for transportation as everything will happen on the campus.

What to bring
All the resources that you will need, for instance computers, software, internet connection, pens and paper will be provided by Maths Camp.
